District-Wide School Psychologist

Position Overview

The School District is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate District-Wide School Psychologist to join our district-wide PPS team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students across all grade levels. This position requires a professional who is adept at navigating the complexities of public educational environments and is dedicated to fostering an innovative and inclusive atmosphere for all learners.

Responsibilities

The District-Wide School Psychologist will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Support families and students through all phases of the CSE process, ensuring effective communication and advocacy.

  • Conduct comprehensive psycho-educational evaluations to determine eligibility and identify student learning needs.

  • Actively participate in and chair CSE and CPSE meetings as assigned.

  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director of PPS to monitor compliant CSE processes, including annual reviews and reevaluations, while supporting building-level psychologists.

  • Train teachers and providers in conducting educational and relevant evaluations.

  • Conduct observations for parentally placed students and those in out-of-district placements.

  • Partner with the district behaviorist to support staff in implementing behavioral interventions and classroom accommodations.

  • Partner with the lead chairperson on initial eligibility determinations

  • Serve as a resource for crisis intervention and mental health support.

  • Develop and present educational workshops for parents and the community via the IUFSD Parent University.

  • Serve as lead summer CSE Chairperson, conducting summer meetings and evaluations.

Job Qualifications

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess the following:

  • Valid New York State Certification as a School Psychologist.

  • Doctorate level preferred, with credentialing to conduct comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations.

  • Extensive experience with broad-based evaluations for a wide range of student profiles within public school settings.

  • Proven expertise in managing high volume CSE processes, including data-driven decision making, FBA/BIP development, and implementation.

  • Ability to engage all stakeholders collaboratively and support families and students throughout all phases of the CSE process.

  • Demonstrated understanding of complex student profiles, including neurodiversity and trauma-informed needs.

  • Experience partnering effectively with building leaders and faculty to implement student-centered, strengths-based intervention strategies.

  • Experience working in innovative, start-up public school models
