The Irvington Union Free School District is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented professional to serve as District Clerk while supporting student registration and key Business Office operations. This position plays an integral role in ensuring the efficient operation of the Board of Education and District administrative offices.
This is a confidential, managerial (non-union) position. The District Clerk is responsible for handling confidential Board of Education, personnel, and labor relations matters and is therefore not represented by a collective bargaining unit.
Work Year: 12 months
Work Schedule: Full-time. This position requires attendance at Board of Education meetings (typically held in the evening twice per month), as well as Election Day responsibilities and occasional work outside of normal business hours.
Reports To: Board of Education; operationally to the Superintendent of Schools and Assistant Superintendent for Business
Salary: $66,000–$71,000
Prepare Board of Education meeting agendas, attend meetings, and prepare and publish official meeting minutes.
Serve as the primary liaison between the Board of Education, school administration, and the community.
Coordinate the annual school budget vote and Board of Education trustee election, including:
Hiring, training, and scheduling poll workers
Coordinating voting machines and polling locations
Preparing required legal notices, publications, and election materials
Prepare legal notices and public postings for Board meetings.
Maintain official District records and respond to public requests for information.
Work closely with the Board President, Superintendent, and legal counsel.
Register new students and review required registration documentation.
Collaborate with school staff regarding student registration.
Serve as the District Records Officer.
Provide support to the Business Office, including purchase order processing, accounts payable assistance, and accounting for Extra Classroom Activity Funds.
Perform other duties that support the Board of Education and District operations as assigned.
