Summary: Full-time probationary appointment with 25 summer days. In partnership with the Director and Assistant Director of Pupil Personnel Services, the Chairperson provides leadership of equity and access to the CSE process, and collaborates with the district-wide psychologist/evaluator to ensure that CSE processes are completed within all deadlines.
Responsibilities
Provides support to teachers on the implementation of CSE practices and processes, within established deadlines.
Participates in special education department meetings and PPS planning meetings.
Designs and delivers professional development for teachers relating to culturally responsive data inquiry and CSE decision making.
In partnership with the Director and Assistant Director of PPS, and the district-wide psychologist, leads collaborative development of aligned, culturally responsive referral and evaluation practices.
Supports teacher teams in the annual projection process and recommendations for Least Restrictive Environment in District in collaboration with PPS Teacher Leadership Team.
Participates in Target Support Groups relating to CSE state compliance
Supports the development of structures for the CSE process and practices and trains teachers to engage with a culturally responsive system.
Acts as CSE Chairperson and ensures timely finalization of IEPs on assigned caseload
Monitors CSE deadlines and ensures that CSE processes are running on schedule.
Supports teachers during Drafting Days and with IEP writing and progress monitoring for purposes of enhancing inclusion.
In collaboration with the Assistant Director supports the Extended School Year recommendations for the assigned CSE portfolio
Chair and support summer CSE processes
Monitors and reports on status of CSE process to PPS Leadership team.
Act as backup evaluator based on certification area.
