Long-Term Leave Replacement: Spanish Teacher (Two Consecutive Leave Opportunities)

Irvington Union Free School District is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Spanish educator to fill two consecutive long-term leave replacement assignments during the 2026-2027 school year. This unique opportunity offers the possibility of continuous employment from September through February while working with students in both middle and high school.

Assignment 1

September through November 2026

• Shared Middle School/High School position

• Grade 6 Spanish

• Intermediate-level high school Spanish courses

Assignment 2

November 2026 through February 2027

• High School only

• Intermediate-level Spanish courses

• Advanced Placement Spanish

Qualified candidates may be considered for both assignments or for either assignment individually.

Job Qualifications

Qualifications

• New York State certification in Spanish (or eligibility for certification)

• Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in world language instruction

• Ability to create engaging, communicative, and culturally responsive learning experiences

• Experience teaching or willingness to teach a range of learners, including Advanced Placement students
